Jose Lucero Obituary, Death: CHP Identifies Motorcyclist Killed in I-215 Crash
Jose Lucero Obituary, Death – Authorities have identified 33-year-old Jose Lucero of Riverside as the motorcyclist killed in a crash on Interstate 215, according to a statement from the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The fatal accident occurred at approximately 3 p.m. on Wednesday in the southbound lanes near Center Street.
The incident unfolded as Lucero was traveling through the busy four-lane corridor at an unconfirmed speed. He collided with a big rig, causing his motorcycle to overturn in the fast lane and throwing him onto the roadway, the CHP reported.
The crash brought traffic on the southbound 215 to a halt. Among the stranded drivers was a trauma surgeon who exited their vehicle to render aid. The surgeon performed resuscitative measures on Lucero until Riverside County Fire Department paramedics arrived at the scene. Despite their efforts, Lucero was pronounced dead on-site.
CHP officials stated that it was unclear whether they had immediately located the driver of the big rig or any other parties involved in the collision.
