Jeremy Rogers Obituary, Death – A fatal rollover accident occurred early Wednesday morning in Johnson County, resulting in the death of a Tennessee man. According to the Iowa State Patrol, the incident took place around 5:12 a.m. on Interstate 80, near mile marker 245.
The driver, 25-year-old Jeremy Rogers from Nashville, Tennessee, was operating a 2021 Volvo semi-truck eastbound on the highway when, for reasons that remain unclear, he veered off the road. The truck struck a bridge guardrail before sliding into a ditch, where it overturned onto its driver’s side.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted in their response by multiple agencies, including the Iowa City Police Department, Iowa City Fire Department, the Iowa Department of Transportation, and the Johnson County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
