Jefferey Joiner Obituary, Death – A tragic single-vehicle accident in Lauderdale County on Thursday afternoon resulted in the death of a 60-year-old man from Waterloo, identified as Jefferey Joiner.
The incident occurred on AL 20 near Lauderdale County 87, approximately 18 miles west of Florence. According to officials, Joiner was driving a 2006 Lincoln Zephyr when the vehicle veered off the roadway. It struck a ditch, a utility pole, and ultimately a tree. Following the collision, the car caught fire and was engulfed in flames.
Joiner was ejected from the vehicle due to the impact. Emergency responders transported him to North Alabama Medical Center in Florence. Despite efforts to save him, Joiner succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
