Dorothy L. Ilott Obituary, Death – Mashpee police have identified 92-year-old Dorothy L. Ilott as the pedestrian killed in a crash Friday morning while she was walking her dog. The incident occurred around 7 a.m. on Job’s Fishing Road in Mashpee. According to a statement from Police Chief Scott Carline, Ilott suffered severe injuries and was initially taken to Falmouth Hospital, where she later passed away. Tragically, the dog she was walking was pronounced dead at the scene.
When police and rescue personnel arrived, they found Ilott lying in the northbound lane with severe injuries. The driver involved stayed at the scene, cooperating with police as they conducted their investigation. A section of Job’s Fishing Road was temporarily closed to allow for a thorough investigation, which is ongoing and involves the Cape Cod Regional Law Enforcement Council Crash Reconstruction Team.
