James Haczynski Obituary, Death – Police in Burrillville have identified the man killed in a construction accident on Saturday as 52-year-old James Haczynski. Officers responded to the scene on Victory Highway after receiving a call about the accident. Haczynski was found trapped under a telehandler, a forklift-like machine with a boom arm, which he had been operating.
According to witnesses, Haczynski was using the machine to stabilize a large tree while another worker was cutting it down. During the operation, the tree shifted unexpectedly, causing the telehandler to tip over and pin Haczynski beneath it. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Rhode Island Medical Examiner’s Office and OSHA have been notified, and the incident remains under investigation.
