Oscar Paisano-Perez Obituary, Death – A 17-year-old teen who was found shot to death on Sunday afternoon has been identified as Oscar Paisano-Perez. The shooting occurred around 3:30 p.m. at an apartment complex located in the 1600 block of Eastcrest Drive, off Central Avenue. When police arrived, they discovered Paisano-Perez with a gunshot wound, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators have not yet released any information regarding a motive or potential suspects in the case.
This marks the second deadly shooting on Eastcrest Drive in just under two months. The first occurred on September 26, 2024, when 25-year-old Khyre’ Grier was fatally shot. Police had been called to the 1700 block of Eastcrest Drive around 7:30 a.m. for a welfare check and found Grier’s body with a gunshot wound. In that case, two men have been charged in connection with the murder. On the following day, 49-year-old Fabio Herminio Funes was arrested and charged with the crime. Later, 34-year-old Ramon Alexi Santos Funes was tracked down by the CMPD Homicide Unit and arrested in Orange County, Texas, on October 2, 2024.
Recent crime mapping shows that over the past six months, 99 crimes have been reported within a thousand feet of 1600 Eastcrest Drive. These incidents include assaults, larceny, vandalism, fraud, and disturbing the peace, contributing to concerns about the safety of the area.
