Jacob Osterhaus, Emily Stovall Obituary, Death – Authorities have identified two victims in a fatal shooting that occurred in Dayton on Thursday afternoon. The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office confirmed that 25-year-old Jacob Osterhaus and 23-year-old Emily Stovall both died at the scene from gunshot wounds.
Dayton police were alerted to the incident just before 1 p.m. and arrived at the 1600 block of Russet Avenue, where they found the two victims. Major Jason Hall stated that both individuals had succumbed to their injuries before any medical assistance could be provided on-site.
The police have accounted for all individuals at the scene and are not actively seeking additional suspects. It remains unclear whether a weapon was recovered.
A 911 call revealed that a witness saw a woman lying on the sidewalk in front of a residence, describing how she had emerged calling for help before the situation escalated. However, the caller could not confirm if the woman was still alive or identify the shooter.
The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to piece together the events leading to the shooting.
