Jose Martin Rodriguez-Lua Obituary, Death – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has identified Cecilio Orozco III, 47, of Pharr, Texas, as the driver involved in a deadly collision that claimed the life of a Border Patrol processing coordinator on November 1. According to DPS, the accident occurred around 8:46 p.m. on U.S. 281 Military Highway, east of FM 493, when Orozco’s Ford F-150, traveling in the wrong direction, collided head-on with a Border Patrol van.

The van was carrying 21-year-old Jose Martin Rodriguez-Lua, a Brownsville resident and Border Patrol processing coordinator, who died on-site. Following the collision, Orozco’s truck overturned and caught fire, with Orozco burned beyond recognition.

The Border Patrol van’s driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries but has since been released. The crash remains under investigation by DPS.
