Edgar Gonzalez Obituary – A 55-year-old man from Los Angeles has been identified as the victim of a fatal ATV crash at the El Mirage Off-Highway Vehicle Area in San Bernardino County. Edgar Gonzalez was riding his ATV, a 2005 Yamaha YFM660, in the dry lakebed area of Bella Vista Drive and Mountain View Road when the accident occurred on the evening of Friday, November 1, 2024. However, the crash wasn’t discovered until around 9 a.m. the following day.
According to authorities, Gonzalez was riding the ATV at an unspecified speed when, for reasons that are still being investigated, he lost control. The vehicle struck a raised dirt mound, causing it to overturn. Gonzalez was partially ejected from the ATV as a result of the crash.
The San Bernardino County Search and Rescue team, which found the wreckage, was dispatched to the area the morning after the crash, discovering Gonzalez’s body at the scene. Despite the best efforts of rescue personnel, Gonzalez was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and authorities have not yet provided additional details about the circumstances leading up to the accident.
