Dunn, age 33, was involved in a collision that also injured three others, including his field training officer, Officer Bethany Grusing. Police arrested 43-year-old Stephen Geer in connection with the accident.
Before joining Golden’s police force, Dunn served a year as a code enforcement officer in Greeley, Colorado, then completed police training in July. He had a notable history of service, having served as an Army aviation officer and Blackhawk helicopter pilot, reaching the rank of captain in the Army National Guard.
Dunn leaves behind his wife, Annalise, their dog, Remy, and a close-knit family, including his parents and two siblings. His wife remembers him as faithful, loyal, and a calming presence. In their free time, the couple enjoyed camping and traveling together.
