Marcelo Garcia Obituary, Death – A tragic warehouse fire in Houston claimed the life of firefighter Marcelo Garcia and left another firefighter with minor injuries, officials reported. The incident took place late Wednesday night at a warehouse on Polk Street, where firefighters responded around 10:50 p.m. and quickly called for a second alarm as the fire intensified.

Just minutes later, a wall collapsed, prompting a mayday call and a third alarm. Houston Fire Chief Thomas Muñoz confirmed that Garcia, 42, who had served with the department for 10 years and spent his last six years at Station 23, lost his life in the line of duty. The other firefighter’s injuries were not severe, and they were taken to the hospital. Chief Muñoz extended his condolences to Garcia’s family and asked for the community’s prayers. Funeral arrangements for Garcia will be announced soon.
