Lillian Tillman Obituary, Death Cause – A tragic crash in Pamlico County on August 4 claimed the life of a 14-year-old girl, authorities confirmed. According to officials, the accident involved a 2017 Kia Sorento SUV being driven by 38-year-old Elizabeth Tillman. As she was traveling along the roadway, her vehicle veered off to the right side. The SUV struck a mailbox and a driveway culvert, which caused it to flip over.
During the crash, 14-year-old Lillian Tillman, who was seated in the front passenger seat, was thrown from the vehicle due to the impact. Emergency responders pronounced her dead at the scene.
Elizabeth Tillman, Lillian’s mother and the driver of the vehicle, survived the accident but sustained injuries. She was taken to Carolina East Medical Center in New Bern for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
At this time, no charges are expected to be filed in relation to the incident. Investigators continue to look into the cause of the crash.
