Emilie Porterfield-Hill Obituary, Death – Authorities in Cowley County have confirmed that human remains discovered earlier this week belong to a missing woman. Sheriff David Falletti announced that the remains have been positively identified through an autopsy as those of 39-year-old Emilie Porterfield-Hill.
Porterfield-Hill had been reported missing on July 16 from neighboring Sumner County. On Wednesday afternoon, Cowley County deputies were called to a rural property in the southwestern part of the county after a body was discovered near a pond. The Sedgwick County Forensic Science Center performed the autopsy that confirmed the woman’s identity.
Although the exact cause of death is still under investigation, preliminary findings did not reveal any visible traumatic injuries. Sheriff Falletti noted that, while the official manner of death has yet to be determined, initial evidence does not point to obvious signs of violence.
The case remains under active investigation as authorities continue to look into the circumstances surrounding Porterfield-Hill’s disappearance and death.
