Daphne Meyers Obituary, Death – A 57-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred over the weekend in Warren County, Georgia, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).
Authorities confirmed that Charles Jeffery has been charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. The incident resulted in the death of 38-year-old Daphne Meyers, who was a resident of Warrenton.
The shooting took place in the early morning hours of July 19. Around 3:30 a.m., the Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting at a residence on Phelps Drive in Warrenton. Upon arriving at the scene, deputies discovered that Meyers had been shot during what investigators are describing as a domestic dispute.
Following an investigation by the GBI, Jeffery was taken into custody and booked at the McDuffie County Detention Center. Officials noted that they are in the process of obtaining Jeffery’s booking photo.
The GBI and local law enforcement continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
