Todd Michael Nelson Obituary, Death – Authorities in South Carolina are investigating a fatal collision involving a motorcycle and a minivan that occurred Saturday evening in Greenville County. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Greenville County Coroner’s Office, the crash took place at approximately 7:16 p.m. on West Georgia Road near Reedy Fork Road. The vehicles involved were a 2004 Toyota minivan and a 2006 Honda motorcycle.

Troopers reported that the Toyota minivan had been traveling southbound, while the motorcycle was heading northbound on West Georgia Road. At some point, both vehicles collided head-on in the roadway, resulting in a devastating crash.

The driver of the minivan was not injured in the incident and remained at the scene. However, the motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on-site by emergency personnel.

The victim has been identified as 56-year-old Todd Michael Nelson of Simpsonville. The Greenville County Coroner’s Office determined that Nelson died from multiple blunt force injuries sustained during the impact. His death has officially been ruled accidental.

Authorities said that an external examination of the body is scheduled to take place on Monday as part of standard investigative procedures.

Officials from both the coroner’s office and highway patrol are continuing to examine the circumstances that led to the tragic accident. Additional details about what may have caused the collision have not yet been released.

The investigation remains ongoing.
