Authorities have identified the deceased as 38-year-old Christopher Johnson, a resident of Temple. Johnson was fatally shot and later died from his injuries, police confirmed.
The incident took place in the early morning hours on the 1200 block of South 13th Street. Officers were dispatched to the scene around 3:39 a.m. following a report of a shooting. Upon arriving, they found one individual at the location who had sustained a gunshot wound. A few minutes later, at approximately 3:47 a.m., officers were informed that a second victim had left the scene and had already sought medical attention independently.

One of the victims, later confirmed to be Johnson, was transported to a nearby hospital. Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Larry Wilkey.
