Toka Flickinger Obituary, Death: Woman who died in Auburn house fire was found trapped in bathroom, fire marshal says.

Toka Flickinger Obituary, Death – Authorities have released new details regarding a fatal house fire that occurred in Auburn, Kansas. According to a statement from the Kansas State Fire Marshal (KSFM), the victim has been identified as 47-year-old Toka Flickinger. Investigators revealed that Flickinger lost her life after becoming trapped during a house fire that officials have determined was intentionally set.

The incident took place on the evening of July 17 in the 500 block of North School Street. Emergency services were alerted to the fire shortly after 6:30 p.m., and crews from Shawnee County Fire District #2 responded to the call. However, efforts to save Flickinger were unsuccessful.

Authorities said the Auburn Police Department was initially dispatched to the residence in response to a domestic disturbance. Prior to their arrival, a man reportedly left the home with several children. About 15 minutes later, a neighbor noticed the house was on fire and quickly called 911 to report the blaze.

Police were the first to arrive at the scene and attempted to reach Flickinger, who was trapped inside a bathroom. Unfortunately, the heavy flames and smoke prevented them from reaching her. By the time fire crews managed to get inside, it was too late. Flickinger was later pronounced dead.

Following an investigation by the Kansas State Fire Marshal’s Office, officials concluded the fire was an act of arson. They discovered several separate ignition points throughout the home, with particular attention drawn to the area directly outside the bathroom where Flickinger was located. This led investigators to believe the fire was intentionally started to prevent escape.

Lance Feyh, a spokesperson for the Fire Marshal’s Office, stated that no suspects are currently being sought in relation to the fire. He added that while the case remains open, authorities have not made any arrests and do not anticipate doing so in the near future. An autopsy is scheduled to be performed on Flickinger to determine the official cause of death.

This tragic event has left the Auburn community in shock, as the investigation into the circumstances surrounding Flickinger’s death continues. Officials urge anyone with further information related to the incident to come forward, although at this time, no additional suspects are being pursued.

The KSFM, in conjunction with local police, continues to examine the details of this fatal fire. Meanwhile, family, neighbors, and local authorities mourn the loss of a woman whose life was cut short under deeply troubling circumstances.
