De’Andre Gooden Obituary, Death – The Jacksonville Police Department is actively investigating a deadly shooting that took place Thursday evening at Dupree Park and are currently searching for the suspect responsible.
Authorities received a report of a shooting around 6:32 p.m. near the playground area at Dupree Park, located at 1700 South Redmond Road. As officers were on their way to the park, they came across a black passenger vehicle that had crashed at the intersection of West Main Street and T.P. White Drive. Upon investigating the scene, they determined that the driver of the vehicle had been shot during the earlier incident at the park.
The victim was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, but sadly, they did not survive their injuries. On Friday, the Jacksonville Police Department identified the deceased as De’Andre Gooden, a resident of Jacksonville.
The case remains under active investigation as police continue to gather evidence and search for the person responsible for the shooting. No suspect details have been released yet, and authorities have not disclosed a motive behind the incident.
