Manuel Jose Rosales Yajure Obituary, Death News: Man found unresponsive at Naperville’s Centennial Beach identified

Manuel Jose Rosales Yajure Obituary, Death News – Authorities have identified the man who died after being found unresponsive in the water at Centennial Beach in Naperville last week as 27-year-old Manuel Jose Rosales Yajure of Streamwood.
The incident occurred early Thursday evening when Rosales, who had been at the pool with friends, was reported missing. According to Naperville police, he was last seen swimming in the deep end of the pool as part of a group attempting to reach a floating dock. Once the group arrived at the dock, they realized Rosales was no longer with them. After a brief search, they returned to shore and reported him missing.
Police responded to the scene shortly before 5:45 p.m. and were informed that Rosales had disappeared underwater. Lifeguards were notified, and after a delay, located Rosales in the water just after 6 p.m. He was pulled from the pool unresponsive and transported by the Naperville Fire Department to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
There is currently no indication of foul play, and the Naperville Police Department is investigating the incident in cooperation with the DuPage County Coroner’s Office.
Rosales’ family, however, has raised concerns over the response by lifeguards and has hired legal representation to look into the circumstances surrounding his death. Their attorneys claim that lifeguards failed to act promptly when notified that Rosales was missing. According to attorney Edward Witas, surveillance video allegedly shows that lifeguards did not initiate a proper emergency search or clear the pool, which would be standard procedure in a possible drowning situation.
Instead, the lifeguards reportedly told Rosales’ friends to search the parking lot, suggesting he may have left the area. Lawyers representing the family say that Rosales remained underwater for nearly 30 minutes before being discovered by authorities, which they argue was an unacceptable delay in response time that may have cost him his life.
Rosales, who worked as a barber in Addison, is survived by his wife and an 8-year-old daughter. Loved ones describe him as a dedicated family man and hard worker, and his sudden death has left them heartbroken.
In the wake of the tragedy, Centennial Beach was closed on Friday and Saturday but reopened to the public on Sunday. The Naperville Park District has not issued a public statement in response to the incident or the legal claims raised by the family.
As the investigation continues, police are urging anyone with additional information to contact them at 630-548-1421. The case remains open, and further details may be released depending on the outcome of the ongoing inquiries by both law enforcement and legal representatives for the family.
