Ayla Mangan Obituary, Death – The Canton Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation following a fatal stabbing that occurred Thursday morning. Police Chief John Gabbard stated that officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of 20th Street NE at approximately 9:35 a.m. after receiving a report of a stabbing. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered a woman suffering from a stab wound to her back in the backyard of the residence.
The victim was identified as 30-year-old Ayla Mangan, a resident of Canton. Emergency medical personnel from the fire department administered aid on-site before transporting her to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital. Sadly, despite medical efforts, Mangan died shortly after arriving at the hospital.
Authorities have confirmed that the incident is being treated as a homicide. No details regarding a suspect, motive, or the circumstances leading up to the attack have been released at this time.
