Investigators report that the driver of the Honda attempted to cross the southbound lanes of traffic in order to access the Pep Boys store on the opposite side of the street. In doing so, the car sideswiped Poole’s motorcycle.
The impact caused Poole to lose control and slide into the northbound lanes of Gallatin Pike. While on the ground, he was struck by two additional vehicles traveling in the opposite direction. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and transported Poole to Skyline Medical Center. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
