According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), officers responded to a call around 1:53 a.m. last Saturday about a traffic collision near the intersection of South Main Street and East Seventh Street. Upon arriving, they found Himendigger trapped beneath a Toyota Prius.

Los Angeles Fire Department crews arrived shortly after and worked to free Himendigger from under the car. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but unfortunately, he was later pronounced dead from his injuries.

Initial reports from the scene indicate that Himendigger was dragged by the vehicle for at least one city block before the driver finally came to a stop. The details of how the collision occurred are still being investigated, but police said the impact appeared to be severe.
