According to OHP officials, the incident involved two vehicles and resulted in one fatality and two people sustaining critical injuries.
One of the drivers, 31-year-old Trever Brooks, was behind the wheel of a Honda Accord when the accident happened. Emergency responders transported him via Air Evac to a hospital in Oklahoma City, where he was listed in critical condition due to the severity of his injuries.
The second vehicle involved was a Kia Forte, driven by 48-year-old Jeremy Smith. He also sustained serious injuries in the crash and was airlifted to the same Oklahoma City hospital for emergency medical care. His condition was reported as critical.
Sheila Smith, a 48-year-old passenger in the Kia Forte and believed to be related to Jeremy Smith, was also injured in the crash. However, she was taken to a local hospital where medical personnel pronounced her dead as a result of the injuries she sustained during the collision.
At this time, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation into the cause of the accident. No additional information about the circumstances leading up to the crash has been released.
