Orlando Trowers Obituary, Death – The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a tragic drowning that occurred near the Haulover sandbar on Sunday evening. The man who died has been identified by his family as 26-year-old Orlando Trowers, a father of three children.
According to a relative who spoke to Local 10 News, the incident began when Trowers fell off a boogie board while out on the water. Someone operating a personal watercraft attempted to help by picking him up, but reportedly did not bring him close enough to the family’s boat, making it difficult for Trowers to get safely back onboard.
Family members said that after falling back into the water, Trowers struggled before they were able to pull him onto the boat. Once he was on board, his loved ones immediately began CPR as they waited for emergency responders to arrive.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded swiftly to the emergency call. The department reported that ten of their units were dispatched to the scene, including a fire boat and an air rescue team. Despite the family’s efforts and the quick response by rescue crews, Trowers could not be saved.
Authorities also confirmed that two other adults involved in the incident were transported to a local hospital for treatment, though the nature of their injuries was not disclosed. A third adult was evaluated at the scene and did not require hospitalization.
The heartbreaking incident has deeply affected Trowers’ family and community. He leaves behind three young children, and his sudden death has prompted an outpouring of grief from loved ones.
