Shelby Luncsford Obituary, Death – A tragic house fire in Woodford County early Monday morning claimed the life of a 34-year-old woman, now identified as Shelby Luncsford.
According to Woodford County Coroner Tim Ruestman, Luncsford died from carbon monoxide intoxication after being trapped inside the burning structure. Her body was discovered in a first-floor bathroom of the home, located in the 1200 block of Upper Spring Bay Road.
Firefighters Respond to Devastating Blaze
At 4:30 a.m. on March 31, the Spring Bay Village Fire Department received a call reporting a structure fire. Upon arrival, firefighters found the building fully engulfed in flames, making rescue efforts difficult.
Two men who had been inside the home managed to escape before firefighters arrived. However, Luncsford was unable to make it out and was later pronounced dead at the scene at 12:45 p.m. by Coroner Ruestman. In addition to Luncsford, a dog was also found deceased in the bathroom.
Ongoing Investigation
Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the fire, and the investigation remains active. Fire officials and investigators are working to piece together what led to the deadly blaze.
