Chris Monteith Obituary, Death -Authorities in Haywood County are investigating a fatal shooting that took place early Sunday morning. The Haywood County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies responded to a call regarding possible gunshots on Mary John Drive on March 16, just before 5 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers discovered two individuals who had been shot. One of the victims was transported to a hospital for medical treatment, while the second victim, identified as Chris Monteith, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Law enforcement officials have not yet identified a suspect in the case. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to gather more information about the incident.
