“Corporal Cody was loved by all in the unit and the heart of his section,” Davis said. “There was nothing at Site Tampa he was not involved in. We grieve his loss and will continue to diligently carry out our mission in his honor. He will forever be in our memory.”

Cody was stationed at MacDill Air Force Base, a key military installation in Tampa, Florida, that serves as headquarters for U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command. His role in the Marine Corps placed him among an elite group of service members dedicated to national defense.
