Atenogenes Medel Chavez Obituary, Death News – A tragic accident in Carter County claimed the life of a pedestrian early Tuesday morning, as reported by the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP). Officials stated that the collision occurred on State Route 400 near Lovers Lane when a pickup truck traveling northbound struck the pedestrian.

According to the THP crash report, 51-year-old Atenogenes Medel Chavez was walking in the southbound lane before crossing into the northbound lane. At that moment, he stepped in front of the approaching vehicle, resulting in the fatal collision. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but Chavez did not survive his injuries.

Authorities confirmed that no charges have been filed against the driver. The accident remains under investigation as officials work to determine any additional contributing factors.
