Darius Holmes Obituary, Death – A fatal crash early Sunday morning in Horry County claimed the life of a 31-year-old man, according to local authorities.
Sgt. Tyler Tidwell of the South Carolina Highway Patrol reported that troopers responded to the scene at approximately 2:08 a.m. The crash occurred on Highway 31 near the intersection with Highway 707 and involved only one vehicle.
According to investigators, the car was traveling southbound on Highway 31 when it veered off the roadway to the left. It then struck a concrete barrier, entered the median, hit an embankment, and overturned.
The driver, identified by the Horry County Coroner’s Office as Darius Holmes, was the sole occupant of the vehicle. Holmes suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
