Alexis Renee Legrande Obituary, Death – The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) is investigating multiple shootings that left three people dead and two others injured over the weekend in Charlotte.
The first incident occurred Saturday morning around 11 a.m. on Old Mount Holly Road near Aqua Chem Drive. CMPD officers responded to assist Medic with a medical emergency. The woman, later identified as Alexis Renee Legrande, was transported to a hospital, where doctors discovered she had a gunshot wound to her chest. She died from her injuries.
Later that evening, at approximately 9 p.m., paramedics responded to a shooting on Lucky Penny Street near the Charlotte Express Inn in west Charlotte, close to Interstate 85 and Freedom Drive. One person was confirmed dead at the scene.
The third fatal shooting happened around 2 a.m. Sunday on Wilkinson Boulevard near Boyer Street. CMPD reported that a man was shot and killed during a confrontation with an armed security guard.
In addition to the three deaths, two people were injured in separate shootings on Sunday. Around 9 a.m., a person suffered life-threatening injuries in a shooting on Village Lake Drive in southeast Charlotte. An hour later, at 10 a.m., a 16-year-old sustained serious injuries in a shooting on Forest Point Boulevard in southwest Charlotte.
CMPD reported that Charlotte has recorded 15 homicides so far in 2025, compared to 16 at the same time last year. The investigation into these incidents remains ongoing.
