Annie R. Felts – Virginia State Police have reported that a woman from Galax lost her life in a single-vehicle accident that took place in Carroll County on February 4.
According to VSP, at approximately 7:55 p.m. on Tuesday, a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder, operated by 79-year-old Annie R. Felts of Galax, was traveling east on Pipers Gap Road when the vehicle veered off the right side of the road, colliding with a tree and subsequently a fence. The impact caused the Pathfinder to roll over approximately four times, resulting in her ejection from the vehicle.
Felts was declared deceased at the scene. Authorities noted that she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
