Allen D. Reed Obituary, Death – A single-vehicle crash in Sumter County on the evening of February 1 claimed the life of a 48-year-old Livingston resident. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) identified the victim as Allen D. Reed.
The fatal accident occurred around 8:15 p.m. on U.S. Highway 11, approximately one mile south of Epes. According to Alabama state troopers, Reed was driving a 2005 Mercury Mountaineer when the vehicle veered off the roadway. The SUV struck a ditch, overturned, and collided with a tree.
Emergency services responded to the scene, and Reed was transported to Hill Hospital in York for medical attention. Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Authorities from ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. As of now, no additional details have been released.
