Stroud was struck by multiple bullets, one hitting him in the head and another in his back.

Stroud was rushed to Christ Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. Authorities identified the victim as James Stroud Sr., confirming his identity through the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
