Walter Drogos Obituary, Death – The Lake County Coroner’s Office has identified a man who was found deceased following a car fire at a residence in Fox Lake earlier this week. On Tuesday, just before 2 p.m., emergency responders from the Fox Lake Fire Protection District and the Fox Lake Police Department were dispatched to the 0-100 block of Scenic Lane after reports of a structure fire. Upon arrival, authorities discovered a vehicle engulfed in flames in the driveway, which had spread to the house. Firefighters worked quickly to extinguish the fire, and after securing the scene, they discovered the body of the driver inside the vehicle.

The deceased man was identified as 76-year-old Walter Drogos from Fox Lake. Although the man had sustained severe burns from the fire, the cause of death is still under investigation. The Lake County Coroner’s Office confirmed that an autopsy has been conducted, but the results are pending. Toxicology tests, including carbon monoxide testing, will be performed to determine whether the man was alive when the fire started and to help clarify the cause of death.

Investigators are continuing their inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the fire, but no further details have been released. The cause of the fire, as well as the sequence of events leading up to the tragic incident, remains under investigation by local authorities.
