Kendall Layne Harding Obituary, Death – A fatal head-on collision occurred Monday afternoon in Marion County, Kansas, resulting in the death of one person. The accident was reported at 1 p.m. on US-56 highway, just north of 270th Road, approximately one mile south of Lincolnville.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the crash involved a 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck and a 2023 Peterbilt semitrailer. The Dodge Ram, driven by Kendall Layne Harding, 29, of Lost Springs, was traveling northbound on US-56 when it veered into the southbound lane. It collided head-on with the southbound Peterbilt semitrailer.
Harding, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi, Jason Philip Mathews, 36, of Garnett, was unharmed and was wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.
Both drivers were the sole occupants of their respective vehicles, the Kansas Highway Patrol confirmed. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
