Thomas Orris Obituary, Death: Tragic Accident Claims Life of Valued Employee at Car Dealership After Being Caught Between Forklift and Truck

Thomas Orris Obituary, Death – A tragic accident at a Connecticut car dealership has claimed the life of an employee following a forklift incident. The accident occurred on January 10 at the Executive Dodge Jeep Ram dealership on South Orchard Street in Wallingford.

Thomas Orris, a 34-year-old worker, was using a forklift to unload a container from a truck. Orris was maneuvering the forklift up a sloped driveway when he unexpectedly stopped midway and got out of the vehicle to inspect something.

While Orris was outside the forklift, it began to roll backward down the incline. In an attempt to prevent an accident, Orris chased after the moving forklift, trying to stop it using his hands. Tragically, in the process, he was trapped between the truck and the rolling forklift.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and performed CPR on Orris before transporting him to the hospital. Despite their efforts, Orris could not be saved and succumbed to his injuries.

In response to this devastating event, the car dealership announced it would be closed on the upcoming Monday to allow employees to attend Orris’s funeral. The dealership issued a statement expressing their grief, saying, “We will be closed to honor and attend funeral services for our beloved friend and co-worker.” They also thanked their customers for understanding as they mourn the loss of Orris and celebrate his life.

The sudden and tragic death of Thomas Orris has deeply affected the dealership and the broader community, prompting an outpouring of condolences and support for his family and colleagues.
