Framber A. Monserrat-Griman Obituary, Death: 22-year-old woman killed, driver arrested in I-65 crash on Thursday.
Framber A. Monserrat-Griman Obituary, Death – Framber A. Monserrat-Griman, 29, of Chicago, is facing serious charges after a tragic crash on Interstate 65 Thursday morning, which resulted in the death of his 22-year-old passenger. According to the Indiana State Police and Tippecanoe County Coroner Carrie Costello, Monserrat-Griman was driving under the influence when the accident occurred around 10 a.m.
Police reports indicate that Monserrat-Griman was driving a Hyundai northbound on I-65 when he veered off the west side of the highway. In an attempt to correct his path, he overcorrected, causing the vehicle to cross the northbound lanes and exit the road on the right side. The Hyundai then rolled, causing fatal injuries to his 22-year-old female passenger, who was also from Chicago.
The identity of the deceased passenger will be disclosed once her family has been notified. Coroner Carrie Costello mentioned that a forensic autopsy is scheduled for Friday to further investigate the cause of death.
Monserrat-Griman was not alone in the vehicle; an infant girl was also a passenger. Both Monserrat-Griman and the infant were transported to a hospital in the Lafayette area for medical treatment. Fortunately, their injuries were not life-threatening, as reported by state police.
Following his medical treatment, Monserrat-Griman was arrested by troopers. He faces multiple charges, including drunk driving resulting in death, neglect of a dependent resulting in serious bodily injury, drunk driving endangering a minor, and general drunk driving.
As of late Thursday afternoon, Monserrat-Griman remained in custody at the Tippecanoe County Jail. The incident has raised concerns about the dangers of drunk driving and the severe consequences that can follow such reckless behavior. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, with authorities working to piece together the exact sequence of events that led to the tragic outcome.
