Shye Brown Obituary, Death – On Friday afternoon, San Antonio police confirmed the death of a woman involved in a four-vehicle crash. The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. in the westbound lanes of Northeast Loop 410 near Austin Highway.
According to the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), the driver of a Jeep Grand Cherokee reported merging onto the main lanes of Northeast Loop 410 from the access road at normal highway speeds. However, witnesses told police that the Jeep driver was speeding and weaving through heavy traffic.
Authorities explained that the Jeep driver failed to notice the stopped traffic ahead in time and rear-ended a Dodge pickup truck. The impact caused the Jeep to spin out sideways, colliding with two other vehicles. The collision caused severe damage to the Jeep’s passenger side, critically injuring a woman sitting in the passenger seat.
The injured woman was quickly transported to a local hospital but later succumbed to her injuries. On Saturday morning, the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office identified her as 20-year-old Shye Brown.
Two other individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were also taken to the hospital for treatment.
Police indicated that the 20-year-old driver of the Jeep might face charges related to the crash, but the investigation is still ongoing.
