Marie Cabotaje, David Stevens Obituary, Death – The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed the identities of two pedestrians who tragically lost their lives after being struck by multiple vehicles while attempting to cross U.S. Highway 90 on the Southwest Side of San Antonio. The victims were identified as 41-year-old Marie Cabotaje and 20-year-old David Stevens.
According to officials, Cabotaje died from blunt force injuries, while Stevens succumbed to cranial cerebral injuries. Both deaths were ruled accidental by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
The fatal incident occurred just before 5 a.m. on Saturday in the 6600 block of eastbound U.S. Highway 90, near West Military Drive. Police reported that Cabotaje and Stevens attempted to cross the highway at a location where pedestrians were not permitted to do so.

Both Cabotaje and Stevens were found unresponsive in the roadway and were pronounced dead at the scene by responding authorities.
Both drivers involved in the crashes remained at the scene and cooperated with officers when they arrived. Based on the details available at this time, San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) has stated that no charges are expected to be filed against the drivers involved in the incident.
The tragic deaths of Cabotaje and Stevens highlight the dangers pedestrians face when crossing roads in areas not designated for pedestrian use. As investigations continue, authorities emphasize the importance of following traffic laws and pedestrian safety guidelines to prevent similar accidents in the future.
