Michael Lamont Bass II Obituary, Death – A 21-year-old man was fatally shot outside a motorcycle club in west Louisville on New Year’s Eve, prompting an ongoing investigation by the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD).
The shooting occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 31, 2024, outside the No Haterz Motorcycle Club on South 36th Street in the Chickasaw neighborhood. Police officers responded to the scene after receiving reports of the incident. Before officers arrived, dispatch relayed that individuals were transporting the victim to the hospital.
The victim, later identified by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office as Michael Lamont Bass II, had been shot in the chest. Upon arrival at UofL Hospital, he was rushed into surgery. Despite efforts to save him, Bass succumbed to his injuries shortly after midnight on Jan. 1, 2025, marking the first homicide of the new year in Louisville.
The LMPD Homicide Unit has taken over the case, but as of now, there are no known suspects or further details regarding the circumstances of the shooting.
