Gianni Oswald Obituary, Death: Police Identify Motorcyclist Killed in Greece Crash
Gianni Oswald Obituary, Death – Gianni Oswald, a 23-year-old man from Hilton, was identified as the motorcyclist who died in a crash on Saturday at the intersection of West Ridge and Long Pond roads in Greece. According to police, Oswald was speeding through traffic on West Ridge Road at around 1:55 p.m. when the accident occurred.
Investigators determined that Oswald had been weaving between vehicles at high speeds. As he passed a Greece police vehicle that was responding to an unrelated call, he accelerated recklessly. Oswald, traveling eastbound, approached the Long Pond Road intersection, which was controlled by a red light. Ignoring the traffic signal, he collided with a pickup truck.
Following the crash, Oswald was rushed to Strong Memorial Hospital. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving. The driver of the pickup truck involved in the collision was not injured.
The incident is still under investigation, but initial findings suggest that Oswald’s high speed and failure to stop at the red light were the primary factors contributing to the crash.
