Logan Tyler Swanson Obituary, Death – The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) has identified the man killed in a deputy-involved shooting that occurred on Sunday on the Beach Express. The individual who died has been named as 29-year-old Logan Tyler Swanson, a resident of Foley.
The shooting took place during a traffic stop just north of U.S. 90. Authorities reported that the incident escalated when a physical altercation occurred between the deputies and one of the occupants of the vehicle. The situation unfolded when the person involved ignored the deputies’ commands to stop and instead pulled out a firearm. In response, one of the deputies discharged their weapon, fatally striking Swanson.
Following the shooting, the deputies involved in the incident were unharmed. As part of standard procedure in such cases, the deputies have been placed on administrative leave while the Baldwin County Major Crimes Unit takes the lead on the investigation. Once the investigation is completed, the findings will be handed over to the Baldwin County District Attorney’s Office for further review.
