Michael Scott Lee Obituary, Death: Criminal investigation opened after body found in vehicle.
Michael Scott Lee Obituary, Death – The Warren County Sheriff’s Office has initiated a criminal investigation after a man was found dead in his vehicle following a crash early Sunday morning. At approximately 3 a.m., the sheriff’s office responded to a report of a single-vehicle accident in the 11000 block of Morgantown Road. Upon reaching the scene, deputies discovered a 2016 Jeep Cherokee that had collided with a utility pole. Inside the vehicle, they found the body of a man, later identified as 56-year-old Michael Scott Lee, who was confirmed dead at the scene.
Initially, investigators noted that Lee’s injuries did not appear to match the damage to the vehicle, leading them to suspect that the cause of his death may not have been the crash itself. This prompted the activation of the WCSO Crime Scene team and the Criminal Investigations Division to further probe the circumstances surrounding Lee’s death. To assist in determining the cause of death, Lee’s body was transported to Louisville on Monday for an autopsy.
Authorities are now calling for anyone who may have seen anything unusual along Morgantown Road between 2 and 3 a.m. on Sunday to come forward. They are especially interested in any individuals who may have observed suspicious activity or have relevant security camera footage. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Warren County Sheriff’s Office and speak with a detective to assist in the investigation.
This case is still under investigation, with the sheriff’s office working to uncover the details behind the incident. The results of the autopsy and any further findings from the investigation will likely provide more clarity on the cause of Michael Scott Lee’s death.
