Elvira Cuellar Obituary, Death – A tragic accident in Long Beach claimed the life of a 75-year-old woman, Elvira Cuellar of Compton, after she was struck by a vehicle while in a crosswalk, authorities reported. The incident occurred around 4 p.m. Friday at the intersection of East Greenleaf and Long Beach boulevards, just north of the 91 Freeway.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, Cuellar was crossing the street in a marked crosswalk when she fell. As she was on the ground, a 2009 Chevrolet HHR made a left turn from East Greenleaf onto Long Beach Boulevard and struck her. Emergency responders, including paramedics and sheriff’s deputies, arrived at the scene, but Cuellar was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Chevrolet remained at the scene and fully cooperated with investigators. Police stated that there was no indication of speed, distracted driving, or impairment contributing to the collision.
