Shiquira Maniel Obituary, Death – A house fire in Vicksburg claimed the life of a 31-year-old woman on the evening of Monday, December 9. The fire broke out on Mattingly Street, drawing an immediate response from the Vicksburg Fire Department.
Fire Chief Derrick Stamps reported that crews arrived to find the home engulfed in flames, with thick smoke billowing from the structure. Firefighters quickly worked to extinguish the blaze, and during their search of the property, they discovered the victim, identified as Shiquira Maniel, in a bathtub. Tragically, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another individual was able to escape the fire unharmed, though details about their identity or involvement were not disclosed.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation as officials work to determine what sparked the deadly incident.
