Wanda Navarro Obituary, Death – A multi-vehicle crash on the Everett Turnpike in Merrimack Sunday afternoon left one woman dead and two others injured. Authorities confirmed that three vehicles were involved: two pickup trucks and a sedan.

The victim was identified as 63-year-old Wanda Navarro of Brimfield, Massachusetts. She was a passenger in a white Dodge Ram traveling southbound. According to state police, the Dodge Ram crossed the median into the northbound lanes near Exit 12, colliding with two other vehicles. The crash caused significant damage and injuries.

The driver of the Dodge Ram, 69-year-old James Navarro, sustained injuries and was transported to the hospital. Another person, a passenger in one of the other vehicles, was also hospitalized with serious injuries.

The crash scene temporarily closed the northbound lanes as state police conducted an investigation. Witnesses described a chaotic aftermath. Alyssa Janelle, a motorist who passed by the scene, recounted cars reversing to escape the blocked area and noted significant damage to the vehicles involved. She observed the Dodge Ram with its windshield smashed and airbags deployed, as well as a man in a neck brace being assisted by responders.

Janelle also described a brown pickup truck that appeared to have been towing a load. The truck seemed to have jackknifed, and emergency personnel were using backboards to aid those injured.

State police are continuing to investigate the crash. No charges have been filed at this time. The northbound lanes of the turnpike have since reopened.
