Nayeli Orozco Obituary, Death – The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) is investigating a deadly two-vehicle crash that occurred Wednesday in Lake County. The crash took place around 12:30 p.m. at the intersection of Vrooman Road and Carter Road in Leroy Township.
According to investigators, the incident began when a 2023 Jeep Compass, driven by a 48-year-old woman from Concord Township, failed to stop at a stop sign. The Jeep Compass collided with the driver’s side of a 2016 Jeep Renegade, which was traveling through the intersection. The force of the crash caused both vehicles to leave the roadway and end up in an embankment.
The driver of the Jeep Renegade, 20-year-old Nayeli Orozco from Madison, sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Ohio State Highway Patrol confirmed her identity and offered their condolences to her family.
Alcohol is believed to have been a contributing factor in the crash, although the investigation is still ongoing. Authorities are working to determine all the circumstances surrounding the accident and are asking anyone with additional information to come forward.
