Kier Leon Marsh Obituary, Death: SLED and Newberry County Deputies Investigating Early Morning Homicide
Kier Leon Marsh Obituary, Death – The Newberry County Sheriff’s Office, South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED), and the Newberry County Coroner’s Office are jointly investigating an early morning homicide and attempted murder that occurred on November 4, 2024.
Around 2 a.m. on that Wednesday, Newberry County 911 received a call from an individual claiming to have been shot during an attempted robbery on Green Meadows Drive, located just outside the City of Newberry. Deputies arrived at the scene shortly after the call and found a man lying outside a home with a gunshot wound to his lower torso. The victim was able to inform investigators that another person inside the house may also have been shot.
Upon further investigation, another victim was discovered in the backyard, already deceased. The surviving victim shared with authorities that several black males had entered the home, started firing shots, and then fled in a dark-colored sedan.
Emergency medical services (EMS) responded to the scene and treated the surviving victim before transporting him to a nearby trauma center. Authorities have not disclosed the victim’s current condition.
The deceased victim has been identified as 31-year-old Kier Leon Marsh of Broadway, North Carolina, who was living at the Green Meadows Drive address at the time of the incident. An autopsy has been requested and will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
