Mayor Justin Elicker Obituary, Death – yor Justin Elicker has confirmed the identity of the 17-year-old killed in a shooting Tuesday night in New Haven. The tragic incident occurred on Shelton Avenue near Huntington Street just before 7 p.m.
According to Police Chief Karl Jacobson, the teen was shot while on the road and was immediately transported to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The victim has been identified as Daily Jackson.
Chief Jacobson also revealed that Jackson had a connection to 16-year-old Uzziah Shell, who was killed in a daylight shooting two weeks earlier. The shootings come on the heels of another fatal incident that took place on Monday afternoon in a parking lot on George Street.
The police chief stated that Jackson attended Riverside Academy in New Haven, and the school superintendent has been notified of the incident. In response, the school will provide grief counseling for students impacted by the tragedy.
