The victims, 28-year-old Jon Carlos Blancarcer and 26-year-old Hector Sajo, were among eight individuals shot during a gathering inside a home on the city’s Southwest Side. A third victim who lost their life has yet to be identified.

The incident, which occurred around 2:10 p.m. Monday near West 59th Street and South St. Louis Avenue, left eight people, aged 20 to 35, wounded or dead. The victims included four men and four women. Authorities responded to a report of a person shot at the residence in the 3500 block of West 59th Street, where they discovered the victims amidst a scene of chaos and devastation.

Witnesses described the moments following the shooting as frantic and terrifying. One witness recounted hearing screams and seeing people running out of the house in panic.
